Flat Sylvie loves to see new places, and frequently mails herself to different cities around the world because that is the easiest way for her to travel. She has recently become interested in seeing more places around Birmingham, Alabama. She grew up in Birmingham, but did not realize that there is so much more to see there until her surroundings seemed so much bigger! Flat Sylvie loves to run, she is the fastest runner out of all of her friends and has been since before she was flattened. She aspires to be a teacher to show children to be as excited about learning new things as she is! She enjoys studying science and history, and hopes to learn as much as she can about the world through her experiences as a flat person. In this blog, Flat Sylvie will share her unique experiences from different places and give insight into what life is like from her perspective.
All About Flat Sylvie
On a beautiful sunny day, twin sisters Sylvie and Sylvia went for a run at Railroad Park in the great city of Birmingham, Alabama. Little did they know, one of their lives was about to change forever. As they were running through the park, Sylvie tripped and fell. Sylvia, who had music blaring in her headphones, did not notice the fall and stepped on Sylvie and squished her! They rushed Sylvie to the doctor, and after a quick examination he said she was going to be okay. Flat Sylvie has tried to resume living a normal life despite her altered appearance, but it has not been an easy transition. She had to be rescued a couple of times from steam vents because she forgot that she could slip through the holes! She has realized that she should stay away from the library because people sometimes have mistaken her as a bookmark. Despite the drawbacks of her new size, Sylvie has found it has its advantages too. Whenever she forgets her keys, she can easily slip under the door to get inside her home instead of being locked out. Since she has become flat, Sylvie sometimes ties a string to a tree and the other end around her foot on windy days so that she can float up into the sky and see the world from a different view.
